Description

33 1/2" square, this wonderful scarf is hand rolled silk from Italy.
I won't guess at when Jacqmar was making this rare series of scarves.
I would guess the 1950's- post war, at least.  It encompassed medieval scenes of Italian life in architectural settings.
You can see that this scarf has never been worn.  Nothing has been "at" it nor do I find any signs of
its age.  Beautiful, Heavy, crisp and elegant.  There were fewer of these to begin with and certainly few left unworn.
The writing reads," Benozzo Gozzoli XVL sec Paessaggio con L'Architetture copywright by Toninelli Milano"  but that is my best effort.  It may not be perfect. Landscape with architecture, I read.
The colors are very wearable if that is your intent.  Why not?  I love how Queen Elizabeth knots her
Hermes under her royal chin.  And the French chic wear their scarves with elan.  Pour quois pas?
